Anamaya Resort is one of Costa Rica's premier wellness resorts. The retreat center is located in the town of Montezuma on the southern coast of the Nicoya Peninsula. Anamaya Resort is nestled in the jungle atop a stunning coastal cliff.

Anamaya's stunning location includes a good amount of stairs throughout the property. If this might be challenging for you, or if you have any mobility considerations we should know about, please reach out immediately. We want to ensure your experience is absolutely magical, and we're committed to making any accommodations needed to support you fully.
Travel Information
Travel Arrangements
You will need to book one international flight into Costa Rica (SJO or LIR) and an additional domestic flight to get into Cobano (ACO).
We invite you to arrive at the Cobano airport the day before our retreat begins (Friday) and spend your first evening exploring the bohemian charm of Montezuma. Imagine: your first Costa Rican sunset, and that anticipatory buzz knowing your transformation begins the next morning.
On Saturday morning, Anamaya will arrange (and we'll pay for!) a taxi to bring you directly to the resort. This gentle transition will allow you to ease into the experience with full presence rather than travel fatigue.

What To Expect
Weather
Get ready for absolutely gorgeous weather! January in Montezuma is warm and breezy, with average highs of 86°F (30°C) and lows of 78°F (26°C). January falls right in the middle of Costa Rica's dry season, so you can expect plenty of sunshine, clear skies, and minimal rain.

Temperature: A comfortable range of 75-85°F (24-30°C) all year - perfect beach weather!
Rainfall: Rain is rare, usually just around 0.5-1 inch (12-25mm) for the entire month
Sunshine: The sky is clear or sunny for about 14.2 hours per day
Ocean Temperature: The Pacific Ocean sits around 84°F (29°C) - fantastic for swimming and water activities
Breeze: Historically, the wind blows at an average speed of 10.8 mph, creating a lovely cooling effect

Packing
At Anamaya, because they often have a light breeze, the bugs are minimal, making it even more comfortable for all our outdoor activities. You'll want to pack light, breathable clothing and don't forget your sunscreen - the Costa Rican sun is strong and beautiful!
